Best Paper Awards Announced at ICAD 2009 Conference

Brighton, MA, - Axiomatic Design Solutions, Inc. announces announces winners of Best Paper awards at the fifth International Conference on Axiomatic Design (ICAD), held on March 25-27 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The International Conference on Axiomatic Design (ICAD), held every two years, brings together practitioners of axiomatic design processes. From over 30 papers presented, the following awards were made.

Grand Prize: € 640 ($ 1,000)
Winner: The Application of Axiomatic Design Theory and Conflict Techniques for the Design of Intersections: Part 1 and Part 2 by Mary Kathryn Thompson, Oh Hoon Kwon, Min Ju Park, Oh Hoon Kwon, Eleonora Ibragimova, Hansun Lee, Sunwook Myung.

Best Overall Paper Award: € 320 ($ 500)
Winner: Systematic human-safety analysis approach based on Axiomatic Design principles. by Rima Ghemraoui, Luc Mathieu, Nicolas Tricot.

Best Paper on Applying AD to Business Strategy and Process Analysis: € 320 ($ 500)
Winner: Business process analysis and reengineering of administrative processes using Axiomatic Design: Theory and Case Study from the University of Firenze by Gianni Campatelli, Paolo Citti.
